The Newness

due to jerks and f***ers who dirtied my 'memo' page with spam, and the rigamarol (sp?) of updating my site the ol' fashined way (see Cracker Barrel for bkfst), I'm trying a bloggier format which will hopefully make it easier to keep current.
tune in for frequent updates, photos, mp3's, maybe some sweet viblogs (my own personal term for short video blogs -has anybody coined that phrase yet?) and rad links. pls feel free to post yr comments, too.
I just got back from a week-long Southern stint with Amy Miles of BABY and Citizens Band fame. We rocked it neo-abolishinist-style and arrived home with spoils of rock (puffy eyes, dirty
undies, broke). It felt so damn good to play I can't even tell you. I'm going to be doing West Coast dates in February with The Dead Science as my opening AND backing band. Stay tuned for dates and deets. So far I love this blog format -way less formal and worrisome, no?
Meanwhile, get my new album Lapland at Team Love, on iTunes, and yes, even at the local 'record' 'store.' Listen constantly, please; thank you.
LOVE.
Craig
The photo (see above) is a polaroid I took of Meggan (m'lady) and Chloe (m'cousin) in Miami during Thanksgiving.
The music (see below) is called 'Morse Pump' and was originally written for an album called The Spanish Amnesian, which I recorded but never released, circa mid-nineties. The Spanish Amnesian was to be a collection of experimental and ambient home recordings. In trying to write, record, edit, and release it I came up against so many frustrating hurdles and glitches that, at a certain point, I took it all as a sign to shelve the whole thing until such time as felt groovy. Part of me is glad I waited, because some of the stuff included in the original makes me cringe; as for the rest, I'll be folding bits & pioeces into my new 'solo' stuff. I sort of decided recently (since finishing Lapland) to desegregate all of my various projects, and just include everything I do under one umbrella/moniker (namely 'Craig Wedren') rather than have there have to be separate bins for BABY, Craig Wedren, Spanish Amnesian, Shudder To think stuff, soundtracks, blah, blah, blah. Inclusion-choas; if the ocean can handle it, so can I.
